November 2026 Marketing Calendar: Holiday Sales Ideas for Game and Hobby Retailers
The November 2026 marketing calendar moves game and hobby retailers from holiday preparation into the busiest promotional stretch of the year. The month includes a federal election, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.
The goal is not to discount everything. Build a clear offer ladder, make gift shopping easy, protect staff capacity, and give customers reasons to choose a your business for their gift needs.
How to Use This Calendar
Choose a small number of anchor campaigns and repeat them across email, social media, your website, and in-store signage. Keep promotion rules simple enough that staff can explain them in one sentence. The easier it is for you and your staff to explain a promotion, the better it will be.
November 2026 Calendar Dates
Nov 1, 2026 | Daylight Saving Time Ends
Most U.S. locations turn clocks back one hour. Confirm automated hours, event reminders, scheduled posts, and opening procedures. Don’t forget to check your Google, Bing, Apple business pages to ensure they have the correct hours of operation.
Nov 3, 2026 | Election Day
Expect changes in traffic, school schedules, and community activity. Verify local hours or polling-site impacts, and make staff scheduling flexible where possible so everyone can exercise their right to vote.
Nov 8, 2026 | STEM/STEAM Demo Sunday
Feature science kits, construction systems, robotics, models, puzzles, or strategy games through short hands-on demonstrations. Make the activity welcoming to beginners and clearly label age guidance. Possible to plan along with your local schools after school programs to encourage additional learning.
Nov 11, 2026 | Veterans Day
Lead with gratitude rather than sales language for social media. If you offer a military discount or support a veterans organization, publish the eligibility, duration, and beneficiary details clearly.
Nov 13, 2026 | Friday the 13th
Invite customers to participate in your superstitions by offering taboo discounts or having fun on social media.
Nov 21, 2026 | Gift Guide Weekend
Publish staff picks, short-form videos, budget bundles, and a printable or mobile-friendly guide. Add clear calls to action for store pickup, shipping, reservations, or gift cards. As Thanksgiving is forefront of everyone’s mind, people have already been making their gift purchases. For those you haven’t started yet, help guide them into possible ideas.
Nov 22, 2026 | Thanksgiving Week Begins
It’s time to avoid website changes, confirm promotion signage, test coupon rules, review fraud controls, and give staff one final briefing before the high-volume weekend. Good luck and happy sales everyone!
Nov 25, 2026 | Thanksgiving Eve
Emphasize easy pickup, family activities, host gifts, and clear closing times. Schedule the next several days of posts before the store becomes busy. Don’t forget to make sure the information is correct on your website (it should be posted already) and tape a copy to your front door.
Nov 26, 2026 | Thanksgiving
Publish a simple gratitude post and make store hours unmistakable. Don’t forget to take a moment and to thank your staff for being with you so far and are happy to have them now.
Nov 27, 2026 | Black Friday
Use a limited number of easy-to-understand offers without being too vague. “Entire store is on sale” seems easy enough until you add, “except this and that” which will frustrate customers. Protect margin with bundles, threshold incentives, loyalty rewards, and selected doorbusters instead of broad discounts. A small trend I saw last year was the anti-sale. “nothing is on sale” and it had mixed reactions from what I saw. Let us know what you do and how it worked for you!
Nov 28, 2026 | Small Business Saturday
Make local value visible. Highlight staff expertise, community events, gift recommendations, and neighboring businesses. Ask partners to cross-promote one another’s offers. Small Business Saturday is put on by American Express (Need a business card? Here is a referral) and they spend a good amount of marketing for this. If you didn’t sign up for this year, look to be signed up for next year.
Nov 30, 2026 | Cyber Monday
Focus on fast mobile checkout, accurate inventory, clear fulfillment promises, and simple online bundles.
Review promotion performance by offer, channel, margin, and staff effort. Carry the strongest gift-guide content into December and retire anything that caused confusion or required excessive manual work. The goal of every promotion is to find what is working and build on that. It’s also the goal to find what isn’t working and to remove it from your plan.
